Career readiness and professionalism is a top priority of PRSSA at Liberty University. To that end we brought in 5x Emmy-winner (with two in investigative journalism) and retired news personality, Dr. Bruce Kirk, to share what makes a college grad stand out among the rest!

Getting recognized starts pretty simple with having a sharp cover letter and resume. A cover letter should always include where you found the job and a thank you for consideration of your application. The resume is about listing what you have accomplished in your various experiences and should never exceed one page.

After that, it all comes down to your attitude and how you present yourself during an interview. Dr. Kirk shared that what makes the most difference is your ability to take feedback and willingness to learn. Those soft skills that make up your personality help to give you that edge over other applicants.

Finally, donuts are a classic workroom snack, so it was only fitting we catered this meeting with

Dunkin Donuts.

PRSSA is a great extracurricular for those who want to be a strong asset to their future employers. College students have an incredible opportunity in PRSSA to work now for the career they want later. Don't miss out!
